Finial Post

Found at the apex of thatched houses, these finial posts were used both as structure and decoration by the Nupe tribe of Nigeria. The ‘toothed’ sections helped to hold the straw in place, and upper section would rise over the top of the straw as decoration and as a totemic symbol.
